Christian Writers in Culture

Christian and author (though not necessarily a Christian Author, depending on your understanding of the term) Mike Duran​ asks some good questions in a recent article at Lorehaven.

I’m not sure what the answers are. What I always tell my clients is that we should knock on many doors and walk through the ones God opens. And . . . I also have long taught at conferences that we must support one another and admit that God has called some of us to write books for the NY market and some to write for the Christian market. We need to stop backbiting one another. We need to prayerfully seek out publishers and writers to support. We need to buy cases of their books. We need to give the books out to friends.

But first? We need to repent and get right with God ourselves. If every person reading these words would pray, asking God to glorify himself and repenting for their prayerlessness and any sinful participation they have had with culture, we could change the world. If God’s spirit is in you, you are full of the power that created the cosmos. You are full of the power that raised Christ from the dead. There is nothing that can stop God from making you prosperous and successful in all you do, if all you do is is bent toward seeking his glory and praising him before the nations.

A little yeast works through the whole batch of dough. You, here, now . . . stop and pray. Ask God to glorify himself. Ask God to give you, in your heart, a desire for his glory.

He may not heal our land right now. This virus seems to be a global judgement, but the USA may be judged more heavily than other, for to whom much is given, much is required. But whether God heals our land right now or not, is not the point. The point is that he WILL be glorified. Either through judging us or delivering us. He WILL be glorified. So pray for his glory. If you pray that you can know that you are praying according to his will and if we pray according to his will, we know that he hears us and gives us what we ask.

God will show you how you can join with him, be his yokefellow in furthering his agenda, and you will be blessed to go into battle with him and witness his marvelous deeds.
